FAQ

Frequently asked

How long does it take to reach the desert from Marrakech?

It is split over two days. On day 2 we leave at 07:30 and sleep in the Dades Valley; on day 3 we reach the Sahara via the Todra Gorges. The way back on day 4 is direct: we leave at 08:30 and arrive in Marrakech around 19:30.

Can I avoid the long drive back?

Yes. On day 4 you can fly from Errachidia to Marrakech instead of crossing the High Atlas a second time, subject to Ryanair availability. Tell us when you book and we will look into it.

How is this different from the 6-day trip?

The 6-day version adds a full day in the Sahara: sunrise over the dunes, a 4x4 run along the old Paris-Dakar tracks and a visit to a nomad village. Here you spend one night in the desert; on the 6-day trip, two.

What time do we start each morning?

Day 2 leaves at 07:30 and is the longest day. Day 4 leaves the desert at 08:30, and the city tour on day 5 starts at 09:00. Day 1 has no schedule at all — arrive whenever your flight lands.

Can I fly home the same day we leave the desert?

Yes, if your flight departs from 22:00 onwards. We reach Marrakech around 19:30, so there is room. Anything earlier and you are better off staying the night and flying the next day.

Are all meals included?

Breakfasts, dinners and accommodation are included. Lunches on the road are not: on day 2 there is free time to eat at Ait Ben Haddou, paid separately.

What does the Marrakech city tour cover, and what does it not?

The guided tour runs 09:00 to 13:00 and covers the Koutoubia, the Bahia Palace and Jemaa el-Fna square. The Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Secret Garden, the YSL Museum and the Majorelle Garden are yours to visit on your own if you want them.

Which desert activities are included, and which cost extra?

On arrival in the Sahara you get the camel ride into the dunes, sunset, sandboarding, welcome tea and Berber music at the camp. Buggy, razer and 4x4 Jeep are booked separately.

Can we do this privately instead of sharing?

Either way. It is quoted as a group or a private trip, with hotel categories from standard to outright luxury. On a private trip the itinerary can be changed; on a shared one, only if the rest of the group agrees.

What if my flight on the last day is very early?

We take you to the airport two hours before departure, whatever the hour. If it leaves before the city tour you would miss it, so tell us the time when booking and we will arrange around it.
