FAQ
Frequently asked
What happens on the extra desert day?
It is day 4, spent entirely in the Sahara. Optional sunrise over the dunes, then after breakfast a 4x4 run along one of the old Paris-Dakar tracks with panoramic stops. We visit a nomad village that is settling down and share a tea with them. Back to the camp for dinner and a second night in the desert.
Is it worth it over the 5-day trip?
Depends what you are coming for. Five days shows you the desert; six lets you live it without rushing — two nights instead of one, the 4x4 and nomad day, and room to add activities. If the Sahara is the reason for the trip, this is the one.
Do we have to get up early for the sunrise?
It is optional. Whoever wants it gets up early; everyone else has breakfast at their own pace. The rest of the day starts after breakfast either way.
Where do we sleep the two desert nights?
At the camp or at the desert hotel, depending on the category you pick. Both nights are in the same place, so there is no packing and unpacking in between.
When can I book my flight home?
Day 6 has the city tour from 09:00 to 13:00 and an airport transfer at any hour, two hours before your flight. If you would rather fly on day 5, anything from 22:00 works, since we reach Marrakech around 19:30.
Can we fly back from the desert?
Yes. On day 5 there is an optional domestic flight from Errachidia to Marrakech, subject to Ryanair availability, so you do not drive back over the High Atlas.
Can the desert part be extended further?
Yes. Nights and activities can be added on top of this itinerary. Tell us what you have in mind and we will quote it.
Which are the long driving days?
Day 2 (leaving at 07:30, Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou to the Dades Valley), day 3 (Dades to the Todra Gorges to the Sahara) and day 5 (leaving the desert at 08:30, into Marrakech around 19:30). Days 1, 4 and 6 barely have any driving.
